Podlasie, the Polish-Belarusian border. Paweł struggles to reconcile his job at a frozen food factory with caring for his dying father, who has no room in a hospice. After receiving a warning from social services, he notices that Syrian immigrant Ali has been hit by his car. He strikes a risky deal with him: he will hide him from the border guards and help him get to Germany if Ali helps him care for his father.
