The Best Films In The World
We have decided to create a new program block that includes the latest documentary films which already stole the hearts of jurors at major film festivals. These are top-notch productions, ambitious, but also very pleasing to the eyes and ears. It is also cinema that is simply worth watching – if only to see whether the films awarded at IDFA, Berlinale, and Sundance are actually worthy of the prizes, or are perhaps over-hyped. This is also a great opportunity to watch them in our city, without taking a trip to Germany or the USA. This year we decided to present these very interesting films:
20,000 Days on Earth – direced by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, awarded at this year's Sundance Film Festival for best directing in the documentary film category.
Is The Man Who Is Tall Happy? - a new film by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep), where the director talks with Noam Chomsky, one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th and 21st century.
Song From the Forest – in his youth, Louis Sarno, American musicologist, ethnologist, and globetrotter, heard a certain song on the radio, and it stirred his imagination and fascinated him so much that he decided to trace its story. That led him to a very special place.
This is something you just have to see.
